This one day RYA support shore-based course aims to give expert instruction of current best practice in first aid. The knowledge gained on this shore-based course should be considered a must for anyone intending to crew or skipper at sea, an environment where outside help can be many miles, hours or even days away.
It is a requirement that all RYA Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore certificates of competence holders have a current First Aid Certificate (within three years).
Topics covered will include:
Resuscitation; heart failure; control of bleeding; burns; treatment of wounds; hyperthermia; seasickness; fractures and spinal injuries; use of first aid kits, getting advice or assistance by radio.
Ability after course; Understands basic first aid in a marine environment.

This course fulfils the requirements for:
